If you listened closely enough early Thursday afternoon, you might have heard the school bell at Cedar Springs Public Schools ring out for the last time this year. CEDAR SPRINGS — As the Hilltop building approaches demolition on the 100th anniversary of its construction, two familiar pieces of its history will be saved and preserved for the community. CEDAR SPRINGS - If you walk into the vision center inside the 17 Mile Road Meijer in Cedar Springs, you may notice a sign stating they are closed. All Meijer locations have permanently closed their vision centers after U.S. Vision, the company that operated the optical departments inside Meijer stores, shut down all of its locations nationwide on May 23.
