As we wind down the fall this November with gratefulness for all of our patrons, come visit us at the Nelson Township Branch of Kent District Library in Sand Lake.

We will be closed for staff training on Tuesday, November 4, Election Day.

Our Legendary Readers program is ongoing with a new creature: Bigfoot! In this program, participants in grades K-5 are asked to read, write or visit the library for 100 days throughout the school year, outside of the classroom. You can visit kdl.org/legendaryreaders for more information about the program.

Young children and their caregivers are invited to join us on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 AM for Storytime and Rhyme Time respectively. Enjoy stories, music and rhymes while building early literacy and social skills. Storytime ends for the season on November 11 and Rhyme Time ends on November 21. We will have a special Woodland Creatures Storytime on Tuesday, November 18 with forest friends and cozy activities.

For families with children, we’re hosting a Magical Friends party on Saturday, November 8 at 10:00 AM to give us the chance to do roar like a dragon and make whimsical creations!

Adults, pre-register to attend The Traveling Printing Press on Wednesday, November 12 at 6:30 PM on kdl.org/events. Experience this art technique on a vintage printing press! Our monthly book club is meeting on Tuesday, November 18 at 1:30 PM to discuss Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell.

Patrons are invited to join us for Food Safety in the Home with a Kent County Department of Health expert on Wednesday, November 19 at 6:30 PM.

Stop by to see us before the chill of winter sets in!
