Pumpkins weren’t the only thing worth celebrating Saturday at Pumpkin Palooza.

Halloween costumes, live music and a little witchy footwork made for a festive Saturday afternoon as Pumpkin Palooza brought families together at Heart of Cedar Springs Park.

Held from 2 to 5 p.m., the free community celebration was presented by the Harvest of Hope Foundation and Green Family & Friends, with a pumpkin giveaway and activities for all ages.

Some guests arrived dressed in Halloween costumes, adding to the seasonal spirit as they explored the pumpkin patch, played games and collected prizes. Face painting, free costumes and a costume contest offered more ways to join the fun.

Natalie Iris and the Family kept the park filled with live music, and the Red Flannel Witches joined the festivities to “dance and trance” along with the tunes.

The Cedar Springs 4-H brought animals for a little petting zoo, giving families a chance to visit some four-legged guests, and the Cedar Springs Community Building Development Team also helped make the afternoon special with a scavenger hunt and pumpkin weight-guessing.

Free food, cider and donuts gave visitors a chance to enjoy a treat while catching up with friends and neighbors.

Between the pumpkins, costumes and dancing witches, Pumpkin Palooza offered a cheerful mix of Halloween fun and hometown hospitality; but more importantly, a chance for the community to celebrate fall together.
